Lieberman acting just like Delay and the RNC down here in Texas.
Think about it. Delay and the RNC were all in a huff because they could not put a candidate on the ballot after "the people" selected him in the primary. The primary reason the courts (including Scalia) upheld the decision was plain and simple...

"For the election process to have any credibility or validity, once the people have selected a candidate in a primary you can't just come back after the fact and put a different candidate in their place since that was not "the peoples" choice" (paraphrased).

How much more proof is needed that Lieberman thinks like a republican. Same scenario different twist. The people have spoken in the primary and selected a candidate, he (and I dare say some in "leadership roles") don't like the choice "the people" made, so they are going to run him as an independent.

Bottom line, I think this speaks volumes about the level of respect both men have for the electorate, the very people they are supposed to represent. Shameful.

2. Legal experts- anything we can do?
I'm not hopeful, but it just seems completely wrong that on election night, someone can leave the party and still run like this. If he ran as an independent to begin with, fine, but this is something else. Like I said, I'm not hopeful, but who knows?
