That is a killer question for him, because he loses either way.

If he says he will, he'll lose Republican support.

If he says no, or even hedges in any way, the Democratic majority in Connecticut will essentially be told that "a vote for Lieberman is a vote for the Republicans."

There's no answer that won't alienate one side or another.
