I can't wait to hear the conservative's spin on this one.

How a true progressive liberal kicks the shit out of an incumbent senator tied so strongly to Bush is a win for Conservatives.

1. It *will* benefit the Republicans
How? It's quite simple: it will let the Republicans attack an inexperienced candidate, and it will let them highlight the fact that the vote between Lamont and Lieberman is pretty much split down the middle (51/49). This lets them create spin telling everyone that the Democrats are not unified and can't agree amongst themselves...

It'll hurt them alot more not to have their "bipartisan" stamp boy and master of the unnecessary compromise, Joe Lieberman. Who will snatch Democratic defeat from the jaws of victory if not Joe?

3. In public they will be spinning this like a tornado
in private they are shitting in their pants. No matter how slim the victory, if Lamont wins it's a sign of what's to come.

6. Well...
It may be a sign of things to come as far as deciding Democratic primaries, and how Democratic candidates will fare, but it has yet to be shown that this victory will translate into victories against Republicans...

5. I could give a fuck what wild BS they come up with
You should NEVER be basing your happiness on the reaction of others - that is not what this is about.

7. They done been spininng this for days
And trying to frame the debate, but it has gained no traction. Nobody has bought the doom and gloom picture they tried to paint. The game starts in earnest tonight, and everything leading up to this point has been nothing but pre-season exhibition crap to sell soap beer. Let the games begin! Bring it ON!
