7. With 54% in, if this doesn't start leveling out I call shenanigans.
It should have leveled out long ago, in fact- 12% swing from 15% to 54% of the precincts? Come on. It's already fishy...

50. I think you're wrong jumping to that conclusion.
I haven't seen what counties or cities were reported first, and that can wildly swing a vote margin. Whether we get a Lamont win or not doesn't mean the vote talley was bad!

I was listening to cspan earlier this evening and they had guests on from the Hartford Currant and Congressional Quarterly plus they were taking calls from viewers. Both reporters said there were quite a few voters who told THEM that they were voting for the devil they knew rather than the unknown, or I hate the war & I hate Shrub but Joe saved my job in the ship yard... Just a lot of hesitation by many voters to take a risk.

I hope Lamont wins too, but if he doesn't I really don't think it was vote tamering. I've read that most precincts use the lever machines and some others use the optical scans.. Both of those leave a paper trail.

76. Exactly. A win is a win. (and is a win for all people-powered campaigns)
Looks like the people have won, no matter the outcome of the race- Joementum has had to claw, fight and squirm his way back into this thing. That is SO rare for an incumbent. Not to mention that this particular incumbent was the VP choice of his party back in 2000. I take a lot away from this campaign- I think it shows that complacency is the challenger that most incumbents dream about, and this people- powered campaign shows that there's really no reason to be complacent. After Hackett last year, and now Lamont, we can seriously go after districts that we thought were write-offs... And we SHOULD. Even if it's just to make the incumbent spend out their war chest... If that money isn't there, they can't give it to more cash-strapped allies.

Interesting night, no matter who wins.

90. They need Ted Stevens!
I can just see Ted, majestically striding in to the Lieberman headquarters... "Out of the way, sonny-jim," he barks at the young-uns trying to shift load from one server to another. "I've got tubes to enlarge! What were you people thinking? Look at the size of these tubes! You can't act like it's a dump truck! They're tubes, consarn it!"

have something meaningful to celebrate. I don't see Lamont losing from here. 80% is good enough for me - anywhere else on the planet the incumbabt would be approaching the mike to concede now. COngrats all DUers. All warmongerers must retreat now. The blogs can beat the establishment - this is H U G E:party::toast:

81. LIEBERMAN NEEDS TO WIN 9% MORE OF THE REMAINING VOTES TO WIN!
Ned is looking real good. +3% after 3/4 of votes are in, so Traitor Joe needs to be +9% in the final quarter of the vote to overcome Ned.
