admittedly, a slide rule is not equiped with fancy programming, but, the progression is such that Lamont wins by 8.7%.

against an incumbent, that constitutes a real MANDATE.

Edited on Tue Aug-08-06 08:20 PM by shadowknows69
a little nervous myself n2doc. They pretty much called the NY primary in 2004 with like 9% of the vote in. Lieberman shouldn't gain more than a couple the rest of the night or there's something rotten in Denmark, er Connecticut.

43. Absolutely worried. I went to bed in 2004 after the exit polls showed
Kerry had the election. And of course, woke up to another stolen election and was severely depressed for months afterwords.
Tonight, I'm not going to bed until the last vote is "counted".

34. A third of the vote has been counted, and it's going to start getting
very difficult to get the numbers to change now.

In fact, if the lead keeps shrinking significantly it would be a sign of voting irregularities.

(whistling)
Here's a little song i wrote,
you might want to sing it note for note,
don't worry, be happy

in every life we have some trouble,
when you worry you make it double
don't worry, be happy

dont worry be happy now
dont worry be happy
dont worry be happy
dont worry be happy
dont worry be happy
aint got no place to lay your head,
somebody came and took your bed,
don't worry, be happy

the landlord say your rent is late,
he may have to litagate,
dont worry (small laugh) be happy,

look at me im happy,
don't worry, be happy

i give you my phone number,
when your worried, call me,
i make you happy

don't worry, be happy

aint got no cash, aint got no style,
aint got no gal to make you smile
but don't worry, be happy

cos when you worry, your face will frown,
and that will bring everybody down,
so don't worry, be happy

don't worry, be happy now...

don't worry, be happy
don't worry, be happy
don't worry, be happy
don't worry, be happy

now there this song i wrote
i hope you you learned it note for note
like good little children

dont worry be happy

listen to what i say
in your life expect some trouble
when you worry you make it double
dont worry be happy
be happy now

dont worry, be happy
dont worry, be happy
dont worry, be happy
dont worry, be happy
dont worry
dont worry be happy
don't worry, don't worry, don't do it,
be happy, put a smile on your face,
don't bring everybody down like this

don't worry, it will soon pass whatever it is,
don't worry, be happy,
i'm not worried

39. The *percentage* lead is shrinking. The absolute number lead...
... seems to be about constant, to eyeball it...

2/1 - wow - a 100% lead

3/2 - doh - only a 50% lead

4/3 - aw crap - only 33% lead

But the actual difference is staying constant. Get it?

Maybe I'm mis-eyeballing the numbers tho....

89. I suspect we started with the absentee counts...
Edited on Tue Aug-08-06 08:36 PM by calipendence
Which might be more reflecting the ultimate statewide count percentage-wise. Then the subsequent early counts will likely come in from smaller counties, which will lean more towards Lieberman, which is now giving us this "narrowing effect". If Lamont can keep Lieberman from overtaking him at this stage, I suspect that the big city numbers will put him over the top later.

78. I'm surpised it's this close.
I didn't expect so many Democrats would come out in the primary to vote for Lieberman. I wonder what motivated Lieberman supporters.

Hope Lamont wins. I still think he will, but it's closer than I thought.

to Lieberman. It will be the more affluent, more liberal suburbs that will go for Ned.

92. I surprised so many Dem Primary voters supported Lieberman.
Hope Lamont pulls out the win, I think he will but I'm sure surprised it's this close. I thought Lamont people would come out in much larger numbers than Lieberman people.
