Will anyone be happy if Lieberman runs as an independent in the GE?
Edited on Tue Aug-08-06 08:11 PM by Nikki Stone 1
So far, the vote seems to be going against Lieberman, and the possibility of his independent candidacy becomes stronger. With at least some DLC pushing him, do you think he will run as an indy candidate and what do you think if he does? What do you think will be the end result?

that likely Dodd is going to try to talk him out of it. Let's hope so.

4. No, I won't be happy
Joe is outdated and the voters DO NOT WANT HIM.

5. The DLC will prove to be a fifth column in the democratic party if they do
Any DEMOCRATIC ORGANIZATION that doesn't rally around the democratic candidate in an election is not a democratic organization.

8. This is what I am worried about
Although all by himself, Joe could spoil this election.

11. But I think about it this way. If the DLC doesn't support Lamont....
their cover is blown. How can a DEMOCRATIC organization support an INDEPENDENT against a DEMOCRAT? It will prove what everyone has been saying about them all along. The DLC cannot afford that. I'm afraid that republicans are going to break rank and vote Lieberman. If he does this, he will be a despicable traitor.

7. No, it's called democracy in action.
While I wish Ralph Nader had not run and split the vote, this is not the same. This is up to the people of Connecticut.

12. Oh man, if you think rank-and-file Dems in CT are pissed at Joe now. . .
they will go VOLCANIC if Joe tries to run as an "Independent"

Especially the "netroots" and "gate-crashers"
