20. I'm predicting Lamont by 7
I think that Joe has managed to get a good bit of his supporters to come out for him in the last week, so I think that it will be harder for Lamont to break 10 than we think. Also, the turnout today was huge so I don't think it will be a squeaker, either. Still, I hope that he will win in a landslide.

Most of the websites showing the voting results have a little (i) next to Joe's name. I know it stands for incumbent, but I can't help think it's an omen of his future political association after tonight (independent).

67. This is over....Lamont won.
With these numbers the only question left is how badly Lamont is going to trash Lieberman- and that's only a question because it could be that districts that are more likely to support Lamont are able to get their numbers in earlier.

Previous analysis seems to point to the fact that Lamont districts are getting the highest turnout, though, which would mean that his lead will only widen. Even that question that is left is basically statistically moot.

75. If Lieberman loses big
do you think he'll say tonight if he's going to go indy??

I think the Clintons and other peeps in the party have spoken to him to NOT do that.

What do y'all think?

85. Not just the Clintons.
Lautenberg has already been talking to Joe about that.

I imagine he's going to have one of those Nixon vs Goldwater|Rhodes|Scott moments.
Joe needs a Reid|Kerry|Clinton moment.

99. can we write his epitaph yet?
Joe Lieberman was a man of his time, and when his time passed, like so many men in history,
he overstayed his welcome and had to be dissuaded by popular discontent. And for the rest of
his life he stayed convinced that his cause was holy and that there had been a terminal
breakdown in american society because people failed to support his vision.

His life stands a pleasant irony to anyone who wonders about political trends and
whether "black" is the next years pink, but what we know for sure, is that that
joe never changed his style, locked in the 1980's until his passing, everyone who
loved joe remembers his doll collection fondly. ;=)

But who can forget when Robbespierre hacked off the limbs of sir joe of DNC, and spiced
with rosemary, thyme and some basil, fed a tenderly cooked leg of warmonger to the wife
of the noble. Yet in the barbarity of the american people's revolution of 2040, the
joes were of little consequence. It was the burden that sir joe was to carry all his days,
why that whole thing with gore just didn't work out.

In his latter years, lieberman experienced a rebirth as a failure, having so much in common
with so many other americans who "could have been" or "should have been". And holy joe
became their patron saint, a proud advocate of medicinal cannabis until his death
in a car accident April 30, 2055.
