5. they need a shake-up in their government. The peaceniks should rise up.
I am really saddened by many of my American Jewish friends who admit that Israel went much too far and who sick about what is happening now but still refuse to publically and loudly criticize the Israeli government.

6. Do you want to know WHY I don't criticise Israel more loudly?
Edited on Tue Aug-08-06 06:22 PM by IanDB1

BECAUSE IT'S THE ONLY FUCKING COUNTRY IN THE FUCKING WORLD WHERE I KNOW MY FAMILY WON'T BE MASSACRED BY MY OWN FUCKING PEOPLE!

9. As a buddhist, i would like such a land as well
One that will offer the protection of the buddha's refuge to its citizens anywhere on earth.

Why do you get to be special? Is it because you feel more of "you" have been murdered? Is
it that there is some claim to a most persecuted status, holocaust and all, dried and tried
mass media programming to kowtow and we're all sorry for something we didn't do.

We need a land where there are equal rights for all religions and peoples, where
equal rights extend to economic spheres of healthcare, education and a civil society to boot.

12. Well, I'm really sorry if you feel it's some sort of contest
Hopefully, enough of your family will be killed that they'll give you Tibet or something.

Good luck with that.

10. Sure. Just tell that to the widow and daughter of Yitzhak Rabin
Edited on Tue Aug-08-06 06:32 PM by leveymg
Guess he's the exception to that theory.

Frankly, I think peace-makers are safer in the United States. But, I'd better check on that with the widows and children of Martin Luther King and Bobby Kennedy.

So, it's a wash.

13. So, how many other places in the world are people massacred by their
"own fucking people"? Defining one's "own people" is a totally subjective business. Once you've defined who are one's "own people" and who are not, the massacres can begin.

Nobody kills their "own", they always kill the "other". This principle is as old as humanity. Israel is not some special case in this regard.
