Are they waiting for the declarative CIVIL WAR statement for possibly mid October, using this as an excuse to pull out the troops immediately therefore making Iraq a non-issue for the Democrats?...maybe it's just my paranoia, but I do not think that these thugs are beyond anything when it comes to retaining power.

I think the world knows that civil war is what we NOW have in Iraq.

1. The Civil War That HE Caused?
Funny, there wasn't a Civil War in January 2003. But of course, we had NOTHING to do with it. The CW just miraculously began, it is a mystery why.

2. I've always thought that
And it keeps them clear of their own "cut and run" BS.

I does nothing to absolve them from the sheer stupidity of going to war with them in the first place, and the fact that they were told numerous times by various people that it would most certainly and absolutely end in civil war, but what are you going to do?

3. There's still that matter of how we went in when weapon inspections and
diplomacy were working to prove military force was not necessary.

4. Of course not. Then JUSTICE needs to be served.

And we, the people, are just the ones to serve it.

Visualize IMPEACHMENT.

Then DO something to make it happen.

7. I agree with your premise...It is apparently what they are planning
in order to save the Republican party from ugly pre-election confrontation...although it is hard to see what tv news show will allow a Democrat to make such points in discussion.

So, we are diverted by watching the war between Israel and Hezbollah, while more American soldiers are killed in Iraq and Bushco tries to work out a plan to stay there as long as possible to allow their corporate buddies to make as much money as possible before pulling out.

What I really hope is that the Civil War in Iraq ends just as soon as American troops pull out. That would be a perfect, "GOTCHA!"

8. He will SAY he is pulling the troops out. Watch them leave them in the
PERMANENT BASES they are building. How about that GIANT EMBASSY in Baghdad?

Iraq will become a non-issue when we have no more Americans at risk there.

Iraq is Bush's WAR. He wanted it he owns it.

9. If he pulls out in defeat, he's finished.
That's why he's staying in there. To give his deluded followers an excuse to continue supporting him.

They have a saying in the Air Force: After the wreck comes the reckoning. And Bush will not be able to avoid the reckoning.

12. Nearly 3000 US troops dead - thousands wounded and thousands of Iraqi's
dead.

It will be an issue until he is out of office. Just one of the many disasters bu$h is responsible for but will never accept the blame.

13. It is more likely that aliens will invade from Saturn.
Iraq will be rendered a non-issue in that event.

IMHO, control of the oil is the reason we are there.

14. If they are pulled out
for whatever "reason", they will soon be re-launched into Iran. Things are heating up and boiling to the point that the Bushies are taking the opp to play war. It's what gets their lumpy little rox off!

17. Nah. Bush and his cronies know Iraq is their albatross.
I bet there's contingency plans of contingency plans floating around the West Wing, State and Defense.

Condi's probably talking to Think Tanks or looking for housing near Stanford, Rummy's prepared to go down with the ship, Cheney's got good health reasons to simply go hoand Bush - Bush will probably stumble his way to a comfortable, if somewhat bitter, retirement in Houston.

Cheney will resign due to health issues rather then hang for 2 years with no more power in washington.
