Something to take down the stress a bit today and calm things down here.
We can all feel good about this.
Aug. 8 (Bloomberg) -- Two 4-year-old twin girls who shared a kidney are recuperating today after successful surgery to separate and reconstruct their organs at a Salt Lake City hospital.
Doctors at Primary Children's Medical Center performed reconstructive surgery this morning on Kendra and Maliyah Herrin after the girls were separated in a daylong operation yesterday, the Herrin family said on its Web site. The hospital said the operation is believed to be the first of its kind involving conjoined twins who shared a kidney.
The girls are in critical condition and will probably remain unconscious for a few days, hospital spokesman Jason Mathis said today in a telephone interview.
