Food for thought ...
Whenever I see a Hummer-type of auto filling up at a gas station I wonder if the owner sees him/herself as a glutton? Do they give a thought (even fleeting) as to the amount of petrol that they are taking away from others?
For me it's a question of morality, I guess.

1. I seriously doubt it
they may see it as it hits their wallet, but I doubt they have the empathy required for what you are asking. And honestly, I'd bet most would not even admit how expensive it is, seeing that as a bragging right of sorts, that they can afford to fill it.

2. Taking gas away from others?
I can think of alot of reasons why gas guzzlers are bad. But denying someone else access to buying gas is not one of them. I'm not aware of any gas stations out of gas because the SUV's hogged up all the gas.

As for driving up the price through consumption. I don't buy the garbage that the price at the pump reflects a rise in consumption. Everything I am reading tells me price reflects supply manipulation and pure greed by big oil.

3. Let's see how else I might be able to phrase it ...
In terms of one big soup-pot - we all line up with our normal-size bowls and then there are the people who are lining up with
their buckets. There is a bottom to the soup-pot - don't they 'get' it that they are causing it to run out more quickly?
I'm all for any other technology other than fossil fuels - but it makes me wonder if there is any kind of logic floating around the braincells of the Mammoth-Drivers?

4. I don't know but was next to a huge SUV this morning at the pumps
I filled up my little crappy Honda for 30 bucks, she came in right after me and hers was $100.50.

I looked over at her and said "It's pretty bad when a hundred dollar bill won't fill your tank, isn't it?"

She gave me a dirty look and slammed a credit card on the counter...I hauled ass.
;-)

5. hahaha

Believe-it-or-not; I used to fill up my car for a grand total of $15.00-$18.00/month. I had a '69 Opel Kadet - I miss that car.
Of course, gasoline was at a whopping .35 - .40 per gallon then.

6. They truly believe deserve more. They've got a warped view of
reality.
