JOE LIEBERMAN IS A VILE SCUMBAG
Ok, I've made no bones about my feelings for Lieberman over the last couple of years, but this vicious last-minute smear of Lamont really rankles me. Lieberman's website went down because he only pays $15 for a server he shares w/ 71 other websites. They are ALL down because of traffic.

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/8/8/153827/3493

This smear is nothing more than a desperate, unhinged act of a vicious, vile despicable piece of shit. Lieberman could not go out gracefully. Instead, he has to launch this vile smear on Ned in order to give him an excuse to either contest the results or run indy, or to take down Lamont w/ him. He wants to take the party down w/ him.

Will Joe apologize for the vicious and admittedly baseless attack on Lamont?(Yes, his campaign ADMITS they have no evidence it was Lamont, or even that it was a hack). Or will Joe lose and go out as the classless piece of shit he is, letting these allegations stand? We were right about Joe all along. He's a despicable piece of shit.

If only he fought as hard in 2000. If only he debated Cheney as viciously as he debated Lamont. Why is it that Joe views Dems as more of an enemy to him than the Repubs that are ruining this country? Why does he not go after Bushco. w/ the same zeal that he goes after people in his own party? Why is he such a fucking douchebag?

Joe Lieberman, ultimate scumbag. That will be his political epitaph and rightfully so.

3. Vile scumbag? Yeah. Ultimate scumbag? Not sure.
I mean there's some tough competition in the scumbag division. You throw Cheney and Bush, Rove and Limbaugh, Coulter and Rumsfeld, in the mix, and I don't know if Joe can take them. I'm sure he'll make a good showing, but it's pretty hard to be the ultimate scumbag.

Maybe I should say he's "an" ultimate scumbag. There may be an "ultimate scumbag" for several different categories of "scumbag" and then one, overall "#1 scumbag".

And Zell trumps just about everybody.

For the record, I'm hoping for a Lamont win -- a big one -- this evening in CT. I have really appreciated CT DUers' posts on this primary race.

I hope how soon he gives shrub that last big sloppy freedom smooch and rides off in the sunsuit forever! Joey the Lips will GO DOWN in history, as another total Zellout.

9. It was MSNBC who HYPED the story for Karl Rove! They were on it
and repeated it over and over trying to make it sound like the Lamont campaign hacked the site. Chris Matthews was there badgering Lamont's Campaign Chair about when Lamont would make a statement about "dirty tactics."

MSNBC was taking part in an election for one side. They should be sued. Tampering with elections. But, of course they get away with it and will until we get some Dems in with spine who will make the Media and Fairness one of their first issues. Without a media who gives equal time...our Democracy will continue to spiral down a black hole.

Reinstate the fairness doctrine.

We also need to look at revoking corporate personhood, but that's a whole other- although related- ball of wax.

35. yes...agree with you "Fairness Doctrine" and Revoke Media "personhood"
it has no place in AMERICA and I don't think the Constitution or Bill of Rights would approve of it...and it was a good document until the Corporatists and the "Military/Industrial Complex" that Eisenhower warned about TOOK that as their BIBLE along with the FUNDIES who support them.

Amazing confluence between the NeoCons/Military Industrial/and the Fundie Religious isn't it? They were "oh so clever weren't they putting together that "COALITION OF THE DEPRAVED."

OUR TIME WILL COME...IF WE MAKE IT HAPPEN...it will come..

13. I don't think Joe is in Donald Segretti's league, or Chuck Colson's,
or Lee Atwater's.

He's not mean-spirited enough to be purely Machiavellian. He's desperate and his campaign knows it faces an unhappy headline in tomorrow's newspapers if polls showing Lamont leading are correct.

The Connecticut workers for Lamont are the ones doing the hard work and the canvassing and the envelope-stuffing, etc. I say hats off to them. I'm rooting for their guy to win this primary this evening.

16. This Also Shows The Weaknesses Of Older Age In These Times
I understand how Lieberman could not have the slightest clue about web sites and how they work. I'll bet every single person reading this post has thought they've been hacked at one time or another -- just to find out it was some technical issue we didn't understand.

And, many of us have had the humiliating experience of accusing someone of stealing something from us... only to find that we had misplaced it. {It's impossible to repair such a hasty mistake.)

I'm astounded he doesn't have hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of webmasters, servers, etc., to manage his web efforts.

That said, what other parts of the modern world does Lieberman not understand -- only because he's in his 60's (I'm guessing). I'm reminded of when Poppy went into a grocery store for a photo-op and marveled at the "new technology" of checkout scanners. The only thing was, at the time, 99 percent of the rest of the country had seen cashiers using checkout scanners for 10 years. It showed that even the president of the United States can be out of touch, and even raised the issue of whether being president put him more out of touch with the daily life of most Americans.

I won't be sorry if Lieberman looses. Either way, after Dean's success with web campaigning, and this, politicians will doubtlessly be even more interested in "the internets."

I checked a couple and they were actually not down but seemed to be working just fine. So the whole theory of the bandwith being used up seems to be false.
I would love to cheer with everyone but imho KOS is kinda making itself look like an ass with this theory when anyone can check their list and see that these sights clearly are not all down.

He knowingly perpetuated the myth, the lie, the misconception that his website had been interfered with by Lamont supporters and now pays the price with the last paper-thin shred of credibility he may have had left.
