CT Voters: Now's Your Chance
Edited on Tue Aug-08-06 09:29 AM by smoogatz
Today's Lamont/Lieberman primary is a referendum of sorts, a chance for you to speak up loud and clear and make your feelings known. Do you want a "Democrat" party that reverts to business as usual, catering to the demands of lobbyists and big-money corporate influence? Do you want a "Democrat" party that capitulates in the name of "centrism" and "moderation," that cowers and kowtows every time Bush demands yet another concession on the war, or Social Security, or the appointment of an anti-choice wingnut to the Supreme Court? Do you want to re-elect a DINO, beloved by George W Bush and every wingnut commentator Faux News can trot in front of a camera? Or do you want to send a message that will shake the Inside-the-Beltway "Democrat" establishment to its core, throw the lobbyist/consultant class for a loop, and redefine Democratic party politics as we know it? Do you want a Democratic party that's responsive to you, the people, or a Democrat party that owes its allegiance to the same corporate paymasters that run the Republican party machine? If you want more of the same, more capitulation, more cowering, more support for Bush's insane and inept PNAC agenda, vote for Lieberman, by all means. If you want a different, more dynamic and responsive Democratic party, a party less beholden to corporate influence, a party that's not afraid to oppose Bushco's criminal warmongering, I urge you to vote for Ned Lamont. Today's the day to start making a difference. Today's your chance to speak up for change.

5. I can't wait to see the outcome in CT.
It sickens me that people are calling Lamont supporters "far lefties," etc., when all they want is some reponsible representation.
