"They call him MonkeyBoy" shocked CSPAN caller says of Londoners.
CSPAN is asking people who travelled outside of the US this summer to tell about opinions of the US they heard in host countries. This woman was over in England running around in a t-shirt with an American flag on it. She was shocked by the terrible things people were saying about * and the US. I say she should get out more often.

That or "Man or Monkey". Malloy was the first person I thought of when I read it. Perhaps there's a big Mike Malloy cult following in London or something?

26. That's "MR. PRESIDENT Monkey Boy" to you, peon!
Remember, Our Glorious Leader Chucklenuts-the-Unitary insists upon being addressed properly for a person in his position (usually, fetal, after a hard afternoon consulting with Jim Beam).

Geez, if this lady is astounded at the "Monkey Boy" reference, she should hang around here on a day when we're NOT in a good mood!

"Breads Ignorance." I kinda like it. Maybe with some peanut butter and jelly!

(Sorry to ruin Tech's great comeback...I had misspelled "breed" as "bread," thus the "pastry" comment. Well deserved!)

36. I think there are a lot of clueless Americans who visit England
As soon as Bush-lovers get the time and money to go abroad, I bet they head for England. In their minds, England is just like the US except everyone has a funny accent, so they figure they'll fit right in. Then they get there and find out how different things are outside their land of Wal-Marts and megachurches.

They're the same way when they visit *New* England, I've found.

Last week a couple of drunken, male, teenage American backpackers asked me where they could "find some bitches." Of course, I was more than happy to help, and gave them very specific directions to the largest gay club in town. I bet they had a great night.

9. Tried to call in, could not. I was in germany for the cup
Soccer fans speak a different language. No, not just beer. more of a common love of the world's best sport. So conversations are easy to get into. From that day's games to politics was an easy transition.

I can sum up the response from Germans, Swiss, Croats, Poles, French, English, Togo, Japanese and Koreans like this:

"Is your president insane?"

I haven't been fortunate to travel much outside the country of late, but friends who have have reported that if you want to get to know the locals, expressing anti-Bush sentiment is a good foot in the door.

And once I started, the Londoners
were more than happy to express their disgust with Blair.
It was very interesting.

But there was a loud, obnoxious guy I saw in Paris earlier this year bitching that the guy at the crepe stand couldn't speak English (how dare he speak his own language in his own country!) and the signs in the Metro were only in French. I really wish these people wouldn't leave the country.

39.  I bet that guy doesn't want anything written in French here in the USA
but he demands that people abroad speak English and have signs, etc. written in French and English. God forbid that the ATM machines in Paris would only have one language. Perish the thought that he might have brought a phrase book with him. People like that are an embarrassment to themselves and to the USA.

My hubby and I went to Canada for four days. It didn't occur to us to wear anything with an American flag. I couldn't believe some of the people on the trip. The first thing they were talking about after crossing the border was going to the Hershey store. You can see right at the border. My God, you live about an hour away from Hershey Park. You can go there almost anytime you want. Also whenever the finances allow for it.

I would feel like a target. That's what old monkeyboy has done to the American Flag. She's got to be a Rush-listening, O'reilly watcher, because anyone else would KNOW what kind of reception they were going to get.

I'm not proud to be an American - I hope someday I can be again. I blame the chimperor and his monkeyboy administration. Then again, it's kind of an insult to monkeys...
