Behold The "NORAD/Pentagon Lied People Died" MSM News Blackout...
... tis a wondrous thing.

Rolling stone publishes a story which begs 50,000,000,000 more questions than it answers about the EVENT THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE. It reports for the first time that a bunch of exercises including ones about hijacking took place simultaneously to the 911 response - screwing it up. It reports that the committee APPOINTED BY CONGRESS TO INQUIRE INTO 911 knew they were being lied to and yet published a cover-up report anyway (a NYT best-seller).

Wammo.... we all get excited. Washpost posts a report. Old Grey lady posts a report. Fox interviews the author.

And then what happens....

http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&lr=&rls=GGLG,GGLG:2005-25,GGLG:en&q=norad&tab=wn&ie=UTF-8&scoring=d

WTF? Nothing? (the Scoop reports don't count they are not even about 911 they just have links to 911 material on them.... Google News is so desperate it is getting confused.)

If ever you needed evidence that the US MSM Media is completely craven, weak kneed, gumption free and totally lacking in stamina then this is it.

Bottom line - we have another Downing Street Memo on our hands here. A story on which the kill order has gone out - and is being obeyed. DU - If you want to see this reported you are going to have to make them. Just as you have done b4.

So if you agree then vote this up. Start action threads and start plastering the news media and congress persons with DEMANDS THAT QUESTIONS BE ASKED....

1. Statement: 911 Widows On Pentagon Alleged Deception
Some of the media could perhaps start with these people. Their loved ones died. They were lied to by the Government (over and over again) and they are pissed off.... Isn't this the very definition of a story?

Statement Regarding Pentagon's Alleged Deception

August 4, 2006
Statement From Patty Casazza, Monica Gabrielle, Mindy Kleinberg & Lorie Van Auken

======
Mandate of the 9/11 Commission

The 9/11 Independent Commission was established by law to €œ... ascertain, evaluate, and report on the evidence developed by all relevant governmental agencies regarding the facts and circumstances surrounding the attacks;...€œmake a full and complete accounting of the circumstances surrounding the attacks, and the extent of the United States' preparedness for, and immediate response to, the attacks...€

======
Recent stories in the Washington Post, the New York Times, as well as the release of the transcripts of the NORAD tapes in Vanity Fair, clearly show that the 9/11 Commission failed in its duties.

According to current reports, the Commission knew that it had been deceived by NORAD. In May 2003, representatives of NORAD testified, in full regalia, before the 9/11 Commission equipped with an easel and visual aids to highlight NORAD€™s timeline for the day of 9/11. In June 2004, NORAD testified again, changing its previous testimony. The new timeline blamed the lack of military response on late notification by the FAA.

The Commissioners never determined or explained why there was a discrepancy between the two sets of testimonies. Governor Kean is quoted in the Washington Post article as saying "we, to this day don't know why NORAD told us what they told us, it was just so far from the truth ... It's one of those loose ends that never got tied".

The fact that the Commission did not see fit to tie up all loose ends in their final report or to hold those who came before them accountable for lying and/or making misleading statements puts into question the veracity of the entire Commission€™s report. Individuals who came before the Commission to testify, after NORAD€™s appearance, had no reason to state the truth. It was abundantly clear that there would be no repercussions for any misrepresentations.

Furthermore, the lack of tenacity and curiosity, by the Commissioners themselves, to determine why NORAD had deceived them is unconscionable. Knowing full well that the lack of military response was such a critical failure, begs the question of whether that same lack of tenacity and curiosity was applied to other critical areas of the 9/11 investigation.

We fought to establish the 9/11 Independent Commission because we believed that American citizens would be better served if our nation€™s vulnerabilities were uncovered and then fixed.

Unfortunately, once again the failure to fully and properly investigate all areas, not follow all leads and not address the need for accountability, whether it be bureaucrats lying at a hearing or personnel with questionable performance of assigned duties, continues to leave this Nation and its citizens vulnerable and at risk.

The 9/11 Commission was derelict in its duties. What we needed from them was a thorough investigation into the events of September 11th. Inexcusably, five years later, we still do.

6. Damn Straight, It's a Media Coverup
The Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch totally ignored the story until the Pentagon apologist story "debunking" the Vanity Fair article arrived, which it then ran. They also (unbelievably) ignored the Scripps-Howard/Ohio University poll showing 36% of Americans believe that the gov't was involved in or had foreknowledge of 9/11. Ignored that story despite its Ohio origins..

I wrote them a letter to this effect. Guest what? They ignored it too.

That 36%? The media is scared shitless of it. They don't want anyone to know, because that's a large enough group that people start thinking about their family, their neighbors and their co-workers and wonder which of them has caught on to the truth. It's critical mass for a viral explosion of truth.

We are going to win on this one day. But we can't count on the corp media to help us, that's for sure.

We no longer have a free press.

4. But there were dismissive articles. Doesn't that count?
By Justin Pope, AP Education Writer | August 6, 2006

Kevin Barrett believes the U.S government might have destroyed the World Trade Center. Steven Jones is researching what he calls evidence that the twin towers were brought down by explosives detonated inside them, not by hijacked airliners.

These men aren't uneducated junk scientists: Barrett will teach a class on Islam at the University of Wisconsin this fall, over the protests of more than 60 state legislators. Jones is a tenured physicist at Brigham Young University whose mainstream academic job has made him a hero to conspiracy theorists.

Five years after the terrorist attacks, a community that believes widely discredited ideas about what happened on Sept. 11, 2001, persists and even thrives. Members trade their ideas on the Internet and in self-published papers and in books. About 500 of them attended a recent conference in Chicago.

Or is that another invertigation that didn't happen correctly?

-Hoot

p.s. decided to leave Freudian invertigation in place of investigation.

7. althecat, Thanks again for helping our challenged media.. K&$
Ii simply can't believe this. What a vehicle to uncover the coverage - Google
-----------------
:sarcasm:
...and what did the PM know about Norad and when did she know it?

-----------------

That's the evidence of lack of discussion evidence.

We're in the twilight of our decadence. It's either straight down or sraight up. We're beyond
sloppy, lazy coverage and well into full blown psychological operations: "don't worry, be happy"
as a wal of life in the American Media.

Thank you!!!

thanks for this. but really what did you expect when even we here at little ole' DU quickly scoot these types of threads off to the 9/11 dungeon? If these articles don't have that much of a chance here, how do you expect them to see the light of day in the MSM?

11. I think the MSM is not just stupid, but bribed and blackmailed
Edited on Wed Aug-09-06 07:51 AM by HamdenRice
Laziness and stupidity cannot explain their disinterest in the most pressing issues of the day, or perhaps in the history of the republic.

We already know that beneath the tip of the iceberg of the NSA wiretap story, there is another story: that certain neo-cons were evesdropping on political enemies. We know that Bolton was listening in on the conversations of Colin Powell to undermine his attempts at diplomacy.

If they would bug Colin Powell, why would they not bug Soledad O'Brien or the editors of NBC News?

We also know that certain opinion journalists were simply bribed to support Bush policies.

No one is that stupid and lazy.
