Big whoop. The woman lives to insult people's sensibilities. Madonna is the new Gibson for cable news people.

Freakin' Christians, Jews, and Muslims need to grow thicker skins. You don't hear of any other religions in the world warring (literally and figuratively) over crap like this. I'm personally sick of all three.

5. Madonna is the root of all evil
Her and anyone else who dares diss the diety. I too grow tired of how we are supposed to tippy toe around with our language and art and life trying to avoid offending the religiously sensitive.

24. No, it's the love of Madonna that's the root of all evil.

6. The meaning of the part of the cruxificion
Edited on Tue Aug-08-06 04:46 AM by mmonk
in her show was the church's position on contraceptives and its obsession with gays and marriage while poor children in Africa suffer from an aids epidemic. She gets her point over by being provocative and envoking reaction and thus she can her say.

7. Exactly they completely miss her point...
Which is a very good one. I can't believe they are talking about this now, Madonna's new stage show is old news here.

13. I know and agree with her message. My comment is basically
on the media playing the role of "shocked" and trying to capitalize on the sense of victimization among religious commmunities these days.

19. Absolutely agree...
Madonna knows that she will get publicity and it gets her message out to more people.
It is meant to offend, those that claim to be Christians and allow people to die needlessly.
Madonna has always been anti-war and anti-Bush and that is why the media don't like it.

to show them the light about anything.

26. While I'll agree that Madonna may not be the needed messenger of
the moment. I would venture to say that many "religious people" would benefit from listening to a few truths about their sanctimonious sorry asses, given the devastating contributions they are making to the current state of the world.

27. ???
What devastating contributions? No more devastating than what non-religious people contribute to the world....

Maybe there are some good, religious people out there who shouldn't have to be mocked all the time. Maybe Madonna's faith of the moment could be thrown back into her face.

8. Yet seeing Jesus filayed alive is ok with the loons.
That movie "Passion of the Christ," was the most disturbing thing that I have ever seen. Funny thing is that they all love Mel, but not Madonna.
I guess she should add alot more butchery and bloodletting into her act to appease them.

10. A little bloodletting and butchery is always good for calming
the masses. Gets them excited and makes them feel secure at the same time.

And I have no idea what Madonna is doing or calling herself now. I don't follow her career at all. She could be calling herself Beelzebub and spinning naked from a chain for all I know. :P

15. LOL! Madonna will someday light herself on fire to get noticed
MAdonna is infinitely more about shock than musical talent.

I would also bet she is on the Joan Crawford "Mommy Dearest" parental plan with her kids. "NO MORE WIRE HANGARS"!

18. Hmm....
guess you haven't heard of the Hindu/Muslim problems in India, nor the problems between sects of Sihks in the '80s.

We are in the midst of a great change of perception, I think. Out of it will come greater understanding of one another.

This dude's like Archie Bunker on crack. At least he's entertaining.

BTW...I heard the Madonna concert in Rome drew SRO crowds...so much for the Vatican reaching "the faithful". LOL.

Oh wait... she always has been outrageous. Now, if this was Perry Como doing it...

And, there was a legit point to the Crucifixion spectacle.
