1. I watched "See It Now" when I was a kid.

PBS aired an excellent documentary about him. I think it was one of the American Experience series.
Then came Walter Cronkite. True journalists.
I also miss Frank Zappa.

edited to add more.

2. So did I, every Sunday night if I remember right!
I'm afraid we'll never see another Morrow. Not unless Congress decides to break up the media conglomerates!

5. Before "The Wonderful World of Disney" or after?
I know. Those of us who remember real reporting miss it most. Even during Murrow's tenure, commercial pressures came to bear.

8. Before I think. We always used to go to my grandparents house
every Snday for dinner, and everyone would sit down and watch orrow and then Disney. Good programming and good memories!

9. That's exactly what our family did!

Wild Kingdom was often on the menu, too.
Unfortunately, my grandmother hated kids, and it sucked to go to visit her.

edit: It didn't help that there were six of us.

10. Well, my Grandma didn't hate kids as far as I know, but she wasn't
the kind that hugged you ever. I enjoyed going because she had two dogs, and I wasn't allowed to have any. My two cousins were always there too which made the day pretty enjoyable.

6. Unfortunately, no network would hire a guy like Ed Murrow now
I mean trying to find a TV journalist who has honesty, intergrity and would never sell out is like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
