Well, In X days -X division are are going to engage -
And that is going to happen.

And god help me, I wish there was some variable -but the truth is there isn't one.

So X divisions units are going to engage in the (guess the capital of Iraq) and there is not a god damn thing we can do about it.

It is like some preordained future.

You know - you guys at DU are extrermely responsible. I respect it very much. That is so hard right now to do.

But man, I am not working for Fox news, and I REALLY understand the consequences - fully.

You guys really think I could EVER give up an American unit - I MEAN EVER!!

Shit, that is MY KID.

But there is a really big fight coming - damn, it really is coming.

7. Well, I don;t thinkthere was until DU unlocked other threads.
Guess they did.

I am not quite sure how to phrase this.

There is a big fight coming now - I guess that is good -

If we don't win we loose - And nothing we can do to determine the fight - how is that??

Can you translate that??

Specifically - well, I am not sure I could do that properly.

Yes, I heard a lot from the boy. More than I wanted to know.

All hell is going to break lose right now - and that is a fact.

9. I heard that the insurgents were migrating to Baghdad
for a big push at the green zone. I hope the reinforcements being sent in are enough to protect our units and positions.

10. So far, we have ticked off the Sunnis
Edited on Mon Aug-07-06 11:50 PM by Alcibiades
Who really did want to see Saddam go, but then we rounded their young men up and placed them in Abu Gharib, right next to bona fide Al Queda guys in the next cell, and sexually humiliated them. As if the goal was to get recruits for the Sunni insurgency.

After the bombing in Samara, all bets were off for the Shia, too, and they've been killing Sunnis left and right, for some time now, in the heart of the capital, while working for the Army or the interior ministry. And now we are sending guys in to stop it, I think. Whatever their intentions, however, two things seem certain to me:

1. Our intervention in Baghdad will not stop the violence there.
2. Taking troops from other areas will increase the violence everywhere but the de facto state of Iraqi Kurdistan.
3. The real effect of this mission will be to get the Shia ticked off at us for good. Once that happens, the occupation of Iraq becomes immediately untenable (that is to say, even more untenable than it is already).

Did I say two? No, I mean three, THREE things seem certain to me.
