Can we laugh them out of office?
Can we mock an deride them when they speak? Why bother with pithy chants? Why not a Greek chorus laughing in derision at every neocon supporting speech? Shout them down with mockery. Disdain is needed in huge glopping helpings.

1. Laugh at them and point.
I already laugh at relatives and acquaintances to take the neocon line. I ridicule and sneer. Often they start to sputter in anger before they can finish their talking points.

Sometimes it is nice to chime in and help them say things or finish their sentences when they say something like, "We're fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them here." That could be done on a large scale.

Imagine a whole roomful of people laughing and pointing when one of their candidates speaks. It wouldn't have to be a whole roomful. It could be a section of the room.

Nice post. The possibilities are endless.

3. The Bronx cheer is also effective
especially when we're out and those ubiquitous TV sets turned to Fox or CNN have some idiot blatting about how wonderful things are.

"Christ! What planet is s/he on?" is also effective.

What is not effective is seething silently.

4. A very good point
Making a laughing stock out of your opponent is a play the GOP has used on us many times. (Dukakis in a tank, Al Gore inventing the internet, etc.) I have often thought lately that we need to start using more humor to fight them. I make fun of them all the time, it's so easy, the material is endless. And they can't really say anything back. I always end up getting the last laugh because of that.

On the other hand, what they have done to this country, and the people who have died because of their asinine policies are so tragic that sometimes it's hard not to break out crying instead.

5. That's what my boyfriend does when he sees a * supporter.
I think it's really smart and probably better than trying to talk sense to them or yell.

6. Daily Show Makes Fun of Media Practically Every Show
and it doesn't shame them into changing. If I were the head of CNN, I would cringe each night when Stewart goes after them, but instead - they just get worse and more like Faux.

8. Growing worse puts them into the realm of the absurd, which

makes them at once truly laughable and without credibility. They become so obvious that rational thinkers cannot ignore or excuse their absurdity. Don't be afraid to laugh in derision.

9. This is why Rove likes to have Shit-for-Brains speak at military bases.

The audience can be hand-picked and controlled. They can even be rehearsed if necessary, which has been done many times in the past.

10. But those Congressmen and Senators could use a dose
of reality. They cannot control all settings at all times. Actually, I can think of two or three Dems whose attention might be gotten with a swift kick like that.

11. Ridicule works.
They've used it on Dems for years to good effect. Time to turn the tables, because their policies are really very laughable, and they keep returning to them again and again, even when they don't work and are very unpopular.

It doesn't take any brains or background information to understand when someone is being laughed at--perfect for the average uninvolved person.

13. True

During the presidential campaigns the rethugs used stooges whose job it was to follow the Dem candidates around to their various speaking engagements and disrupt and harrass as much as possible. Several were identified in various widespread parts of the country. Some even tried to alter their appearance (wigs, glasses, facial hair) but still were identified.
