OK Bush just flip-flopped....He said that we must have a end to the
hostilities before we can address the root cause.

Isn't that exactly the opposite of their fucked up foriegn policy from a week ago? They wanted to allow Israel go all the way and end Hezbollah, right? Israel wasn't gonna stop shooting until Hezbollah was dead, right?

9. The "rules of debate" don't apply to Republicans
Edited on Mon Aug-07-06 09:15 AM by W_HAMILTON
That's why everyone should just ignore their silly talking points, a la "flip-flopper," "cut-and-run," etc. There's plenty of instances where you could point out where Republicans do the same sort of things, and you could point out their hypocrisy, but it doesn't matter because the rules of a "normal debate" don't apply to them or their followers.

They and their followers don't care if they're proven wrong.
They and their followers don't care if they make a hypocritical statement.
They and their followers don't care about engaging in a logical debate about something.

They'll spit out their little catch phrases -- right or wrong -- and they'll hurl baseless insults and attacks at people -- whether true or not. Needless to say, there are plenty of dumbass Americans out there that they'll fool, and plenty of dumbass Americans out there who want to be fooled (ie, I'm a Republican, I will find a way to justify anything a fellow Republican says or does).

So fuck it.

Whoever said Democrats should just ignore Republicans and their talking points and keep attacking them back is right. Trying to defend yourself (or in this case, point out the hypocrisy) is almost pointless because it just gives them credence to their talking points in the first place. Just ignore them; everyone either already knows they're full of shit, or believes their bullshit because they're "one of their own" and they'll never go against them anyway.

18. Wait, what if the cease fire isn't sustainable?
Last week, those of us who wanted the two sides to stop shooting at each other were derided as naive or evil or something else unsavory. This week, Lil Boots hisself is saying the same thing that we were. Oh wait, I remember:

9/11 changed everything.
