Finally a CNN reporter tells the truth that Hizbollah is NOT firing from
the areas Israel is striking. Campbell, I believe is the reporter's name, is reporting LIVE from Beirut (not from Israel). He says that it is not true that Hizbollah has been firing missiles from the areas that Israel bombed in Beirut. They are really just targeting civilian areas and killing lots of civilians. Wonder how Wolf and crew will attempt to spin this.

40. Israeli government deploys troops to the internet
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/printFriendly/0,,1-3-2289232-3,00.html

Is there any country in the world so obssessed with pushing propaganda at all levels, from internet forums to the big media organizations? I understand all nations seek to influence public opinion but Israel takes it to an extreme that has no peer. What is Israel afraid of? You don't see the Palestinians having such a global operation, they let the facts do the talking...
Israel needs to accept there are valid reasons why only one of the 190+ countries in the world is "pro-Israel"...

wasn't Isreal by attacking this ship trying to blame Egypt? My history of that event is dusty but I did read a fascinating story about it. Isreal is not beyond "false flag operations"...

12. 'Bout ten years later--
And the truth is still being covered up. In my opinion, one of the few Great Sins that the Dawg was supremely guilty of has to be his lack of interest in going after the crooks when he had a chance. It might well have led back to the late sixties and that particular piece of terrorism.

taking care of business in the Sinai by killing Egyptians (read 'war crimes') and since the NSA's USS Liberty was listening in, the Israelis attacked it, ostensibly to cover their tracks...which didn't work.

Please note, I support Israel's right to self defense and respond to Hezbollah rocketing. I can't explain this stupid assault on an virutally unarmed US vessel.

34. The mark of intelligence, imho,
is the ability and desire to re-examine and re-evaluate one's core assumptions and conclusions. There's no proof that I should think I am the smartest, today, I'm ever gonna' be.
If there were a single demonstrative difference (with some notable exceptions) between the two major political parties, this would be it.

interesting...seems the launch angles would be really difficult along with the range from beirut to israel. i`ll go with the 95% chance that rockets are not being fired from anywhere in beirut.

25. It is having the opposite effect
Arab Foreign Ministers are meeting in Lebanon as I type. Last night in Syria, the annual christian festival was celebrated with a candlelight march in support of Lebanon and Hizbollah. It was the first time that Muslims and Christians marched together at this festival.

Why Israel and the US believe that the people of their region don't understand the hegemonic plans of US and Israeli, only they know. These people have watched the slaughter in Iraq and seen all the US bases and embassy being built in their lands. Both the US and Israel will learn that these are not the unsophisticated indigenous people that Westeners wiped out centuries ago. 6,000 Lebanese were slaughtered in the 1982 invasion and people have memories.

18. I saw that report
He did say that no rockets could reach Israel from the areas of southern Beirut where the bombing is taking place. He said that the buildings and sections of city being bomed were known headquarters of Hezbollah. But he also said no Hezbollah leader in his right mind would still be there and only civilians were getting clobbered.

24. This is ridiculous folks
and pretty ugly. Mostly though, it's astonishingly ignorant. Israel has never claimed that the reason they're bombing Beirut is that H'zbollah launches attacks from that city. They've always claimed that they're trying to take out H'zbollah's infrastructure in parts of Beirut, chiefly the Southern part, where H'zbollah has headquarters. H'zbollah hasn't fired any rockets that can span the distance from Beirut to Israel.

I have repeatedly condemned Israel's attack on Lebanon. I deplore the bombing, but the ignorance in this thread is just absurd. I want to take a moment to call out both the poster who fervently wished to see Israel bombed back to the stone age, and all those who blithely passed by that charming post. Wishing harm on civilians, either Lebanese or Israeli,or anyone elsse is beyond the pale.

Israel is indeed to be condemned for invading and bombing Lebanon, and for the death of hundreds of civilians, the grave damage to infastructure and more, but this thread is just pathetic in its ignorance.
