A question to all who support Israel's war..Should the US
Edited on Sun Aug-06-06 04:00 PM by patdem
attack Iran?

Edit..I said Isreal's attack on Hezbollah...since I cannot say attack on Lebanon..cause NO ONE supports that...what can I say..I do not want Hezbollah to exist..but how to frame the debate?

Since Hezbollah/Isreal seems to be a 'proxy war' between the US and Iran, should the US attack Iran?

Though this scenario has been bantered about it is NEVER touched upon by the people who support/don't support Israel in this latest war. Why us this not being mentioned in the threads regarding the Israel/Hezbollah skirmishes?

I hope this is not considered bait or sent to the dungeon for terminaiton..I am seriously interested to find out how this should end? With a broader conflict or just the end of this conflict with Hezbollah being disarmed?

1. Bombing is never the answer
What we have is a real mess. I would hate to have the kind of pressures that the leaders involved have, but first, if were able to insert a brain into them, and remove the absolute religious craziness at the same time, and take the monetary and PNAC value out of the question...well then...well then, I'd probably think I was living on another planet!

2. I would be hard pressed to see
how attacking Iran gains anything. It might cut the flow of cash and supplies to Hezbollah and thereby offer some "relief" to Israel, but I don't think it would do any more than bring the region into a much wider and dangerous conflict. Expanding the conflict is not the answer in my opinion.

3. Thank you...the pundits all talk about the 'broader war' but we have not.
Thanks for the input. I am very interested to see how people with very strong beliefs feel regarding this potential.
