4. 1600 acres in TX ain't a ranch, it's a large yard.
Barely 2.5 by 1 mile, like a golf course.

6. It was a hog farm owned by a family named Sowell, believe it or not.
georgie bought it from them right around the time they announced his candidacy.

He didn't have it while he was Governor.

7. He bought in in 1999 to convince voters that
he's just a good-old-boy Texas rancher. Completely bogus. The lavish 4000 sq. ft. sleek modern home complete with pool area for the twins is never photographed. I did a Google Search and the only photo I could find was of a modest house that was built by a former owner. The media, of course, has never called him on the bullshit.

8. The symbolism is so unavoidable...
Two oil men move into the White House. The President moves into a pig farm in Texas. What should have that told us? :)

12. I don't refer to it that way.
It's too reminiscent of RWers that point out that the UN is built on land that housed a slaughterhouse for decades.

15. The pigs still wallowing there are the two-legged
Republican kind. Yes just like in "Animal Farm", the pigs have taken control. The symbol of the GOP should be a pig instead of an elephant.

17. I Thought Someone Might Tell You The Real Reason
I do not know what the proper name of a place where pigs are raised, but its not a farm (general or horticultural) or a ranch (animal rearing generally but I've never seen it used for a pig operation), but George bought one.

The name is given because pigs were raised there at the time he bought it. The pigs went right away but I understand that the previous owner has remained on as the caretaker of the grounds. Might be true, might not, I really don't know. The house was new as I was told, in fact I was also told they took the keys the day he was inaugurated.

You want to see something much more interesting then you should take a look into where Cheney lived on the day he was first elected and what the Constitution has to say about it.

18. The irony is that PoppyBush's libary(sic)
is built on the former Swine Center of Texas A & M. Sounds to me a "ranch" on a pig farm is equivalant to a library on a swine center for someone who can't read.
