Condi makes my flesh crawl.

I get a physical reaction when I see her worried face all over the news, and all over the world. She is supposed to be America's face to the world, but it's an ugly face, ugly in the spritual and political sense.

Her arrogant "everything's going to be alright" tone, her baronial representation of America as an honest broker and diplomatic entity, she's not helping a god damned thing going around parroting the neo con talking points.

She uses her tongue real good, but it isn't doing her or us any good.

More than anything she reminds me of a Nazi mouthpiece, sent out to put a supposedly diplomatic face on all the Nazism. She's the perfect representation of a wolf in sheep's clothing.

My mother and my sister, both of whom are staunch liberals, both love Condi. (my sister is a lawyer, Mom was a McCarthy delegate in Chicago in '68 - so they're not dumb) They think she is the only good thing about this maladministration, and they would both vote for her for Prez if the Dem choice was an idiot. (Of course they would both vote for Hillary first and are drooling over the prospect of a Hillary/Condi face-off) They are blinded by the fact that she is an "intelligent" black woman in a position of great power and anytime I try to tell them that she is a lying reptile just like the rest of the cabal, they just say "Oh, stop it." Mom also loves Barbara Bush. I guess sometimes we see our dreams in other people, and unless they are photographed ACTUALLY eating babies brains from their skull cavities, it can be difficult to see the pure evil that they represent...

7. I talked yesterday to a couple of people...

...from Illinois who are extremely mad at the GOP and will never vote for another Republican -- except Condi. I sputtered...but but but she lied to Congress. Doesn't matter. They think she's smart.

I believe the unspoken message is that some ill-informed people believe they can cast themselves as modern if they support a black woman for president.

Dangerous times.

What was hilarious was that he'd JUST spent five minutes talking like a Klansman about "nigras" ruining "Amurica" by voting for "librul scum."

I didn't bother to argue with the guy, I grew up in a rural Maryland county that's still Klan-country and I know it's a pointless as trying to teach a cat to read. But my wife was shocked, since she grew up inside a well-educated bubble, and had never met a true dumb as dirt Klansman before. We were both trying to figure out for weeks what it meant that a true Son of the Confederacy wanted to salute President Rice so badly.

We're still a bit puzzled, to tell the truth.
