First...you're stuck in the middle of Texas in August with 100 plus heat...not quite the cozy Beltway or Manhattan accomodations here. Hell, there probably isn't a decent Starbucks in miles. Next...this is a "White House" that wants to stay as invisible this summer as possible. They've gone into campaign stealth mode...so if a "breaking story" comes out it'll be in Israel or Connecticut or the Arizona border or anywhere other than Rove's war-room in Crawford. This is like being at Gitmo without the Lemon Chicken.

Your sure not seeing the "A" list reporters lining up for this beat. Even the "regular" WH correpsondants are sticking in Washington (which is bad enough) rather than enjoying the "pleasures" of the Crawford chicken ranch.
