National Collector's Mint is at it again, the bastards!
Edited on Sat Aug-05-06 07:12 PM by mcscajun
I just heard their latest commercial on TV, and it made me retch. They're cashing in on 9/11 with a five-year commemorative; once again, they're making the same sorry-ass claim of using silver "miraculously recovered from a bank vault found under tons of debris at Ground Zero."

I plan on posting this to NYS Attorney General Elliot Spitzer. He went after them the last time.

18. Just 3 or 4 years ago it was around $3.50 or $4.00. Factoid:
Edited on Sat Aug-05-06 10:31 PM by Nevernose
Interesting factoid: Nevada, "The Silver State," is responsible for roughly 90% of the world's mined silver. And most of the mining interests are controlled not by Democrats or Republicans, at least directly, but by Canadianm comapny Barrick Mining, which also has ties to the Carlylse Group?

7. They take the high road compared to outfits like the NCM
Edited on Sat Aug-05-06 07:46 PM by mcscajun
Their stuff is overpriced and overrated in terms of any collectible value, but at least they are honest thieves.

NCM is run by lying scum that aren't above exploiting a national tragedy for profit.

9. Hey, now, they're not all so bad. I mean, look at how they've worked
to show the truth about trickle-down Reaganomics by charging $10 for their Reagan dime.

From memory, sorry:

"You have to stop painting your address number in front of my house."

"But Hank, I can't! You have no idea the lengths to which the Franklin Mint will go!"

I thought a stop had been put to it. It's disgusting and shameful. What next? I'm surprised they don't claim the coins contain remains of the deceased.

although I'm not familiar with the previous action. I know Spitzer from his pursuit of the big players in the insurance biz. He's shagged them rotten as Austin might say.

Unfortunately, not for good. Only so much you can do with these scurrilous companies who skirt the law, bending it but not totally breaking it.

Edited on Sun Aug-06-06 08:39 AM by mcscajun
It's issued by a company even LOWER down on the food chain that calls itself the "Washington Monetary Authority".

Centennial Productions Inc., which is also known as Centennial Sports, Old New England Mint, Olde New England Mint and Washington Monetary Authority.
