Here's how we force the REPUBLIKLAN congress to increase the minimum wage.

Representative Steny Hoyer said that if the minimum wage followed inflation it would have risen to $9 an hour today. I made $10 an hour 30 years ago. These hard working adults need $10 an hour to live with $3 a gallon gas, housing, food and heating and air conditioning costs and raising a family.

You will only get a raise in the minimum wage out of this Republiklan congress if you begin threatening the donors to the Republican party with consumer boycotts and demand the donors get the increase from the GOPranos because they have something to lose. The Office holders have nothing much to lose financially and most of them serve in safe seats except for this year the moderates appear in trouble. Even if the Democrats take over both houses by small margins you have a chimp to deal with who will veto any progressive legislation.


So if you want to get anything done, threaten Republican donors with consumer boycotts unless they get the GOPranos to increase the minimmum wage. See my signature to see how.

3. Actually, Sen Reid has a plan that just MIGHT work!

when the Senate returns to session, he said he is going to do everything in HIS power to stop the Congressional pay raise UNLESS it's linked to a min wage increase.

THAT might work because it smacks THEM in the wallet!
