I have gotten negative comments and I am sorry for head-lining the thread as such. Please have patience with this newcomer to DU... Sending teabags to Washington is taking off, Hope to have all of your support in this simple and symbolic gesture in light of the current administrations policies and our future hopes. Thanks Lisa

since that was exactly what the person you quoted told you.

Sometimes a dose of the truth is necessary, and the truth is that Democrats are perceived as weak and not standing for anything, thanks to party conservatives who would rather die than alienate corporate donors by taking a stand to benefit rank and file Democrats. That's just the way it appears out here in workaday land, and it's up to those leaders to correct it if they ever want to get back into power again.
