Myths of the World

With all due respect...

Clearly the world needs a new Myth To Live By.
These myths have outlived their usefulness...the lessons will be learned the hard way.

The myth that we are 'different' because of our differences.
The myth that we should fight if we believe in different myths.
The myth that we that there is 'not enough'.
The myth that more will cure the void.
The myth that religion should be interpreted literally, not metaphorically.
The myth that we can have unlimited growth within a finite system.
The myth that killing is noble without a respect for the sacred.
The myth that what we 'believe to be true' is the truth.
The myth that power and control will bring us happiness and fulfillment.
The myth that I keep what I covet and lose what I give away.
The myth that children must be conditioned to be like the misguided adults conditioning them.
The myth of mind, body, spirit separation.
The myth of either/or instead of the of both/and.
The myth that retaliation and punishment will achieve peace.
The myth that being able to kill at the push of a button is the 'ultimate' power.

And finally...Perhaps the greatest myth of all...
The myth that killing that which we hate will extinguish the hate within us.

May we all be with the souls who are leaving their bodies.
May we feel compassion for both the victims and the perpetators...
For they have lost their way and will suffer greatly for their actions.

We are all one force in different forms, the beauty of diversity, the sacredness of creation, on a tiny island in the vast darkness, the light will rise again.
