1. I've been thinking about this too

As angry as I get about what Israel is doing in Lebanon (and this post is in no way meant to excuse those atrocities), we did and continue to do so much worse in Iraq. We did rain bombs down on them, yes, over and over and over. And we imprisoned them, tortured them, raped them, murdered them for sport, made them run until someone in the group felt like shooting them. We collectively punished large cities, ruined lives, and ushered in an all-too-predictalbe (ask GWHB Sr) insurgency.

To try to defend this sort of thing as good/right/necessary, to try to say it's bringing democracy and freedom as is claimed by Strangelove-Rumsfeld et al, this must be the new working definition of insanity, or maybe evil.

May justice one day be served.

2. strangelove insanity evil

I always am compelled to ask why, and the answer is always oil and $$, but to imagine the compliance required to pull this off and to continue the facade - can't wrap my mind around it EVER.
