TX: FED Judges Rule In Favor Of Dems - New Map to Put TX-23 in Play?
New Map to Put TX-23 in Play?
by Jonathan Singer, Fri Aug 04, 2006 at 05:39:06 PM EST

Today, a panel of three federal judges in Texas issued a new map for the southern portion of the state, and as Robert T. Garrett reports for The Dallas Morning News, the new lines bode poorly for at least one GOP incumbent.

Democrats came out winners in a court decision on redistricting that was handed down Friday.

U.S. Rep. Henry Bonilla, R-San Antonio, now must run in his hometown's heavily Democratic South Side.

..................

The Democrats' strength by at least some measures is slightly higher in his new district, though it is still a toss-up.

1. I heard earlier that this would consolidate the Hispanic vote.
In the last election, the usually Democratic Hispanic vote amped up it's conservative side. I hope dimson's dreadful record keeps the Hispanic vote pro=Dem. Why any person of ANY color would vote repub is beyond me.
