3. Yes -- moreso than nudity, coarse language, etc.
Violent, unnatural death is the most pornographic thing of all.

I think it's okay to pretend. I don't think it's okay to act out and really kill people, that's a very bad thing. :evilfrown:

12. War does offend me....
It seems to me that with a million years of evolution, or however long man-like creatures have been in existence, and with all that we've accomplished as a species, we should be smart enough to figure out how to get along for the benefit of all of us. What kind of evolutionary strategy is it to send the strong young men to die in war, to kill the children and mothers so brutally? I hate war - it's stupid.

13. The obscenity of war in all its warped guises is the only
true pornography. Pepubliclowns and their associated neoclowns and hate mongering child molesters think there is nomething wrong with consenting adults sharing the joy of their own and each others bodies and minds, calling it, even the mere sight of an innocent breast, porn.

Maybe it's my way of naming them so I can hate them but those bloody hadean worshippers are twisted. War is sickening republiclown ice cream.

34. Cool--thanks!
I like to hope the world, in its customary, stumble from extreme to extreme fashion, will collectively draw a horrified breath, overreacting to the obscenity we've created, and produce something dramatically better.

18. Absolutely
It sickens and enrages me too, especially when it's glorified or treated as anything but the absolute last resort, unavoidable and gone into beforehand with the desire to end it ASAHP.*

As Robin Williams once said, "If women ruled the world there'd be no wars, just intense negotiations every 28 days."

22. Yes and I did not even let my children beat on each other.
I got them apart and made them sit and talk about it. Odd but my husband, the military man. would always let them beat them selfs half to death if I did not step in. Used to really make me mad. Even as a girl, as a kid, I had to learn not to have fights and it took many a black eye for me to learn. I hated to be pushed around by some boy who was a bully. That same bully spent most of his life in prison so I guess he never learned. I learned to get the best of him with my mind. I was as glad as my father was not to see me with a black eye.

23. the idea that others tolerate
war, and even make excuses for it, does bother me.

People can always make excuses for war. Excuses are not reasons.

There are always alternatives, and if people prepared for a future peace rather than a future war, those alternatives would be much easier to see and implement.

No, I'm not stupid and blind, but

Damb. Am I dumb.

27. no
War is the state of the world.

We are fighting a class war, and i am not offended in the least.

Injustice offends me, unawareness of common sense offends me, violence offensds me,

but my offense is Ok, i am a boureouis american asshole who deserves to die
because i sold out the working class when i broke ranks to contract outside
the permanent employment agreement, and ever since then, its been a race
to the bottom in our class war... "wanaa pick some sum tea for 4 dollars a box."

29. all things coexist
war is part of life, and the class struggle is
endemic to every society, and every single life as people
seek to better their circumstances over the class of their parents.

31. Yes. It's an affront to mankind and every species on the planet...
Edited on Fri Aug-04-06 07:06 PM by KrazyKat
It's an affront to the Earth itself.

Sadly, sometimes war is necessary, as in the American Civil War and WWII. But the fact that it's sometimes necessary does not make it any less of an obscenity.

32. War is the worst insult to our humanity ... War is terrorism
War is the evil we put upon our fellow human beings.

WAR makes Jesus, The Christian "Prince of Peace" cry with sorrow.

In War, no side is The Winner. All of humanity loses as a result of war.

And so does the idea that war/violence is the ONLY way to handle conflict.

And so do people who think war is "just the way" we humans are. It's insulting. I take offense.

39. There are few wars throughout the history of mankind that were just,...
,...moral, for the greater good. As a matter of fact, were any? Aren't all wars about controlling either people, territory or resources?

"War", to me, is absolute failure on behalf of humanity to "love thy neighbor" and respect the earth.

"WAR IS FAILURE".
