how to stop vote stealing.. they are checking signatures of voters and if
there is any variation at all in the signature on the card and what is signed on the register when you sign into vote at a predominately democratic neighborhood.. they will deny you your right to vote, i guess they did this about 1,300,000 times last election.. i think they did it to Mistress Randi Rhodes in FL.

so here are some thoughts..

go with several witnesses, with a video camera, when they try to eliminate your vote.. take down their names and ask them if they are a licensed certified credentialed hand writing expert.. they will balk.. then tell them you will place them under citizens arrest and call the police if they continue to harass you and deny you your civil rights to vote. tell them you are going to vote and if they touch you you will charge them with assault and civil rights violation

from what i understand a civil rights is a minimum of $400,000 fine

2. My grandmother, in PA, was told outright her name wasn't on the list.
Edited on Fri Aug-04-06 11:46 AM by sparosnare
After standing in line for 1.5 hours (she's 85), she was told by the woman at the desk she couldn't find her name. My grandmother has been a registered Democrat and voted in every election for as long as she's been able. She knew something was fishy and thank god had the where-with-all to contact the main office who told her her name was in the computer. So they sent out a rep to meet her at the polling place, they went up to the desk together and guess what? Her name was there, plain as day. The woman who had turned her away was nowhere to be found.

I'm sure this sort of thing happened a lot too, especially to the elderly who probably just went home and didn't speak up.

6. My wife was one of the purged in New Jersey.
We've since moved and she did not find out her provisional ballot did not count until we were in Indiana.

security cameras to record who said what to whom. That will help keep the vote honest, especially when it comes to counting voters.

We only had one incident in the ward where I was a poll watcher in 2004. She was a Green but the Attorney who was there at the behest of the Democratic party helped her get it straightened out. Even though she had voted in previous elections, someone scrubbed her from the rolls. In Maine, you can register to vote at the polls on election day, so it's easy to set things right.

5. Did it ever occur to repukes that fed-up Democrats can retaliate?
Dems can easily retaliate against such repuke shenanigans by responding in kind, only targeting predominantly rural, fundie precincts for the same type of voter intimidation the repunks subject minorities and Dems to.
...BTA, they do know Dems can retaliate--that's why the reauthorized the Voting Rights Act.
