Corker wins GOP primary in TN will face Harold Ford
Edited on Fri Aug-04-06 11:19 AM by WI_DEM
Rep. Corker easily won the GOP primary in TN, and now will face our candidate Harold Ford. Unfortunately Corker is probably Ford's toughtest opponent. Three recent polls give Bryant sizable, but not insurmountable leads. Mason-Dixon has the race 49-36, Rasmussen 49-37, and University of TN 42-35.

1. Corker won, where are you getting your data?
With 71 percent of precincts reporting, Corker had 174,085, or 48 percent of the vote.

Ed Bryant trailed with 126,168 votes, or 35 percent. Van Hilleary had 56,521, or 16 percent.

Corker wasted no time in reminding supporters that he still has to defeat Rep. Harold Ford (D-Memphis), the Democratic nominee, before the victory will be complete.

There were approx. 320k total votes in the Dem primary. Approx. 385k on the Puke side.

Gonna be tough.

7. Have to laugh about "War Hero" Van Hilleary
who was quoted a number of years back ... he had enlisted to fight in Gulf I not because of humanitarian reasons, but because he felt that the economy would suffer due to Saddam being in Kuwait ... wonder if he ever ran on the "humanitarian" reasons why he went to war ...

2. I got excited there for a second.
But then I realized I had forgotten to run in the Tennessee GOP primary.
