Subject: Unconventional Primary Campaign Opportunity (LIEBERMAN)

Republicans,

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. In June, I informed you all of a campaign opportunity for State Senator Tom Kean race for U.S. Senate in NJ. Continuing the tradition of letting you about summer campaign opportunities here is a much more unconventional option:

Incumbent Senator Joe Lieberman (Democratic Primary)
Lieberman is facing a tough primary fight versus far-left anti war activist Ned Lamont.
----------------------------------------------------------------
August 4-9th Primary Campaigning:

Elissa Harwood '09 (NOT A CLUB MEMBER) has organized a series of buses departing on Friday August 4 from Washington DC (6:30 Foggy Bottom Metro) and NYC, destination: Hartford, CT

People interested in campaigning for Lieberman in the Democratic Primary will have lodging accommodations paid for (by his campaign), as well as food and transportation.

Buses would bring you back on August 9th.

If Interested, E-mail: XXX@Princeton.EDU or call her
at (757)-XXX-XXXX.

Lieberman's campaign will be offerind lodging accommodations and food for College Republicans.

1. What are the requirements to vote in the primary in CT?
In my state (TN), we really don't have "parties." I mean, you can join one, but it doesn't matter.

If you're registered to vote, you can just declare in which primary you intend to vote when you hand your info to the election worker and they set the screen for you for either a Democratic or Republican primary.

I know that most states outside of the South, however, have more strict voting restrictions when it comes to primary voting.

7. These douchebags aren't going to vote for Joe
Edited on Fri Aug-04-06 10:21 AM by pstans
They are going to go help knock on doors, make calls, etc. Joe needs volunteers and is making calls to his friends to get them.

8. These are the thugs who are picking fights at Lamont rallies
Not just verbal fights, actual physical contact fights.

Out of state Republicans coming in to Connecticut to disrupt the Connecticut election.

The good thing about this election is that Republicans can no longer switch party affiliation to vote in the Democratic primary. The deadline was a couple of weeks ago.

2. That does it
That's the final straw. I'm almost tempted to move back to Conn. just to vote against Joe.

5. Talk about wanting your cake and eating it too
They want to elect from both sides of the aisle.
After all, THAT is the PNAC plan.
The only way to effectively destroy something is from within. Within the government, within the Democratic Party, etc.

6. They had better be organizing for the Republicans in the fall ..
:)

Joe is just the first in line with his primary. Unfortunately, they are standing in the same line. It's not just the war - it's the support of this "fiasco" of an Administration. Joe just happens to be a Democrat.

10. Lieberman is going to use campaign funds to pay Republicans to
campaign for him. Let that sink in a bit. Lieberman is going to use money donated by Democrats, for Democrats, to pay Republicans to campaign for him.

There are no words to accurately describe the utter lame-ness of that. That's just unbelievable.
