Watching "Twilight Zone - The Midnight Sun"
Classic episode. The earth has moved into a closer orbit to the sun and things are going to hell in a handbasket--110 degrees at midnight. It's got the inevitable TZ surprise ending.

Just thinking about all the global warming threads on DU this week and smiling about prospects for the upcoming November election.

Things are gonna get better when these bums are out of office.

Cheers everybody.

1. Well, it's 80 degrees at 2 am here. Not too far off.
I've been thinking about that episode a lot lately. I forget how it ends (it's gotta be 30 years since I saw it). Do me a favor, longship, and remind me how it ends?

2. The end of that episode has always really, really screwed with me.
Like all the best Twilight Zone episodes. Good lord, I've got goosebumps (how apropos) now just thinking about it. Only seen it once, never forgot it.

4. Because you could see it applying to you.
We felt the same way. There is only so much destruction humans can do before they ruin their habitat.

3. But we have a fighting chance to do something about it
and save our kids and grandkids. But that would require self control such as walking, bicycling, to taking public transportation to work, and fighting W's pollution friendly controls to industry.

In the mean time, Southern Texas was the biggest purchaser of gas guzzlers this year. Big oil men enjoying the good life.

5. That's one of my favorite episodes
Doomed people living out their last day, then the twist ending.
