U.S. expands Guantanamo...
'The Pentagon announced that a new, permanent prison will open in the U.S. detention facility in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, a move that clearly defies international mounting international calls to shut down the jail, The Independent reported.

Officials said Camp 6, a maximum-security prison built by a Halliburton subsidiary, will hold around 200 detainees.

Commander Robert Durand, a spokesman for Joint Task Force Guantanamo, said the $30m jail will open by the end of September, claiming that "Camp 6 is designed to improve the quality of life for the detainees and provide greater protection for the people working in the facility."'

1. Who are these people that have overrun our government
these criminals, who defy OUR LAW and INTERNATIONAL LAW and line their pockets with the blood of our children?

Who ARE they?

2. it really is stifling just how far our apathy has gotten them...
but you are correct sadly...where there is an ill-will, there seems to be an ill-way to match it

after rumsfeld's deathly senile performance today on the hill, i do not put any fucking thing past this bfee group of criminals, liars & repressed homo-erotic sociopaths

4. I cannot buy that we are apathetic. How would we know?
The criminals own the media and try to tell us what we care about and don't. They own the election systems and try to tell us how we voted.

I have no basis to believe the American people are apathetic. On the contrary, when I see the explosion of activity on the net, I have every reason to believe, we care a great deal.

So, they won't allow us the net for long and, for all we know, Yahoo! and Google are filtering our news as they do in other places. We'll have to fight that, too.

But when we read DU any day of the week, we are not reading apathy. :)

7. we are becoming, thankfully if some years too late, less apathetic...
still too slowly imo less likely to swallow their shit sight unseen,it's been years since rove prepped this bullshit cowboy; eggs were thrown at bush's inaugural limo, they only locked the doors and sped away and it's never been the same since...it should have been tipped over is my feeling, he should have had to eat cold contention served on a cold platter since day one

9. You're right of course. They can't be allowed to pretend
that they have our consent to their law breaking.

This is their vulnerability, if we can get it together to press it.

13. Are you following the excellent work being done by DUer
GuvWorld?

He's addressing precisely this issue via our election systems. Today, he has a piece at OpEdNews. Rob put it on the homepage.

15. yep, i did see some items going past & now is the time, please lord...
there can be no more excuses this next time around as they will tinker with everything from black boxes, to voter rolls, to a green party (and i am essentially green myself) tampering & vote shaving of every known kind...

it is just that imo it has all gone to hell and needs drastically to be brought back to somewhere near the center if only to recall/remember what a sense of balance really feels like

6. They're very inefficient. Why don't they just go next door and
dump off the money? It's not like they actually need us to sign the checks anymore.

I hate bad theater.

one of the aspiring Halliburton cling-ons, and see what his bank account reflects.
