Formaldehyde in FEMA trailers?

to be exposed to formaldehyde. That's just the tip of the iceberg of toxic fumes you're going to be exposed to. Synthetic carpets can off-gas for years.

I just don't understand why people are surprised that there's formaldehyde in FEMA trailers, given the above.

Not just FEMA trailers.
That is why they are locked up and treated for a period of time after they are manufactured to help get rid of the fumes.
This has always been the way it is and many families are happy and comfortable in their homes.

I have a raging allergy to not just formaldehyde (which is also used as a filler in fabric, or at least used to be), but any maldehyde. Also printer toner (for laser printers) and Prell hand disinfectant.

I wouldn't want to live in one either because of chronic lung disease.
However, given the choice of living in my car or in a tent, I'd probably choose living in one of these homes.:shrug:
