Did you ever feel lonely?
Edited on Thu Aug-03-06 10:18 PM by Tom Yossarian Joad
Sorry for a circumstance?

Blue for things you want
but do not have?

And then turn on the news
and see the arm
extending from the rubble?

(grainy film
voice over
the only color
red
handsome beauty
tells
of
vagaries
amid
destruction)

And the the tear streaked face
of the mother holding the child?
The Child holding his Mother?

Did you ever feel lonely in America?
Sorry for yourself?

And turn on the news?

1. No. Lonely, but never sorry for myself like those lyrics.

4. You're a better man than I am, Redstone.
I have to admit to times of feeling sorry because I didn't have things.

Usually like healthcare or dentistry...

2. I think I can grep that in some ways
When my mom died I was home alone, wife was in California visiting family. I turned on the news and there was the Tsunami. Massive deaths. While my problems paled in comparison, they were still my problems - and demanded more immediate attention.

It only added to my depression. Some zoloft and a lot of psych sessions later I am better. Still miss her though - and am damn sure others are missing their loved ones tonight as well.

I felt sorry for many folks that day, including myself - but was thankful I at least had my wife, daughter, and rest of family to cling to. It could have been worse- but it damn sure could have been better.

3. I have been around long enough and been in enough shit that I know
that no matter what my burden, there are many traveling a much harder road.

Great lyrics, TYJ
