Why The US Will Never Have A Woman President

So, I'm listening to some of the news reports of Dubya's latest physical and it hit me.

We will never have a woman president in this country. Doesn't matter how many voters can be persuaded to let go of old-fashinoned gender stereotypes.

They gave Dubya's weight. No woman would want her weight blurted out to (almost literally) the whole world.

Of course, many women lie about their weight. Meaning if a Democratic woman ever did get to be president with a Republican Congress, she'd be impeached for lying over 10 pounds.

5. I disagree that all women are obsessed with age/weight

and both women AND men lie about their weight - but I will say that a woman's appearance would be picked apart much, much more than a man's appearance - absolutely

6. I've got to be honest with you. That's one stupid waste of a post.

I know you're trying to be funny -- and trust me, my sense of humor reaches far out there -- but you've failed. Some might say your post is sexist. I won't go that far. But in light of what's going on in the world, I think you'd be better off to either be significant with your opinion or be sure you're humorous (not that they are mutually exclusive of course). The woman's weight thing is neither.

7. As a recovering anorexic...

5'9", 150 lbs. Six years of recovery, gained a lot of weight, and proud of it. To claim that all women or even almost all women are obsessed with weight is ridiculous, and to act like it's normal and expected is even worse. To make jokes of how women ARE often valued by their appearance and weight...insensitive at best. Many women and girls are KILLING themselves because society thinks it's ok and normal for women to obsess about their weight. The lucky few get to spend tens of thousands of dollars to get appropriate treatment...which is almost never covered by insurance if they even have it. This is not a joking matter...the hell I went through wasn't funny, the money my dad paid for my treatment wasn't funny, the damage to my body wasn't funny, and the very lives of girls (and guys) that are lost every year to weight-related disorders definitely isn't funny.
