I'm aware that this is the NY Post, however, could they be more smug?

1. Like you said, it's the Post.
What else would you expect from them? And they'd likely be the first to scream and shout if the situation were reversed, no doubt.

2. Plus it is innacurate...
The coverage area is almost identical to WLIB...the signal will be just as strong.

4. Maybe Clear Channel will use it for "progressive talk" format
Edited on Thu Aug-03-06 06:26 PM by LSparkle
Now that AAR is off the ground, maybe owning entire stations isn't a smart idea. They've helped to prove that the "progressive talk" format can work, though, and there are plenty of stations that combine AAR programming with other liberal hosts (from Jones Radio, for instance). Here in L.A., we don't have all-Air America but we do get Franken, Randi, Majority Report, Ring Of Fire, Laura Flanders, Malloy, etc. (as well as Ed Schultz, Stephanie Miller and a few local hosts), on a station owned by Clear Channel (!). Just losing an affiliate isn't the end of the world for AAR by any stretch of the imagination.
