Trust me, that is not outside the realm of real possibility. I had clients who had FAS and some of the behaviors are consistant.

Remember: After WWII, that generation came back from the war and partied like it was 1999. Huge amounts of drinking and very little was known about ETOH and its effects, both short and long term, till much later.
