Differences in reporting on the Middle East

Here is a documentary comparing the US and International reporting on the Middle East.

It's definitely worth viewing. I have to say I am appalled to learn that the news I see if filtered through the networks opinions in a more drastic way than I knew.

1. The circle of oppression ....

It's Ironic that the country whose justification is heavily attached to European concentration camps is now running two very large and brutal concentration camps themselves...

The oppressed become the oppressors...

3. I have several international channels

The difference is mind blowing.

4. I used to have BBC International but I don't anymore.

I remember switching from CNN to BBC during the Iraq invasion and thought I was watching two completely different events.

But the difference here is mind-blowing. I feel manipulated. It's one thing to report one side and not another. But it's something else to choose your words to deliberately alter the perception.

Like calling "settlements" "neighbourhoods". Like saying Israel is defending itself against terrorist attacks, when they are on occupied land dealing with resistance forces.

5. You can watch a lot of BBC on line

even if you can't get all the video, audio is available. Check the World Service Radio programmes. Newshour is a must.
