Tom DeLay Loses Again

Lone Star Project...

5th Circuit Court of Appeals Agrees with Texas Democrats on DeLay Ballot Challenge

The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in favor of Texas Democrats a short time ago. As a result, Tom DeLay remains eligible for the 2006 general election as the Republican nominee for the 22nd Congressional District of Texas.

More details to come.

DeLay stays on the ballot. Welcome back. And yes, I can independently confirm this information.

3. I certainly hope so. If by some damn quirk DeLay gets elected,
then he'll be absolutely an absolutely insufferable arrogant pig.

4. But doesn't the GOP just appeal again?
Great news, but I'll refrain from any celebration until all appeals have been exhausted.

6. It will be too late, I think...
They can keep appealing but at some point the ballot closes and has to be printed and then approved. It's a fairly long process, so I imagine that it would be tough for Delay to do anything even if he won an appeal.

12. I don't know
An indictment is easy to get and an conviction is not. So if he does win, then I don't know. I guess we have another Republican in office.
