How moral of them, wanting the death of another person.
I don't know how brutal Fidel Castro was to his 'people', but he must have been bad to some of them if after 60 years they cheer on death and can't wait for him to die. Did he have lots of people executed during his reign?

1. Perhaps, but I get the impression that the Well off Ex Patriots
in Florida are celebrating because they're wealthy by Cuba's standards and may be dreaming of "making a killing" in the business world when Cuba is Americanized.

2. That has been my impression too.
I think a great deal of the hatred of Castro's cuba has been over money. People want to be the wealthy elite.

6. They were wealthy under Batista
and long for the good ol' days. I think they're going to be disappointed. America's boycott has allowed Cuba to build relationships with everyone from Canada and the EU to Venezuela. They're not likely to go back to the days of American-supported corruption.

3. I thought the same thing
How many of those celebrating consider themselves to be good Catholics? I know Castro has done some bad things, but you think they would hold back on the sinful exuberance.

4. These are the same people who hated Fidel
more than they loved Elian.

Very, very sick.

7. Uhhh have you seen this place when a rw despot has kicked or is sick?
You don't just have grave dancing you have elaborate explanations on why the grave dancing is appropriate.

8. I didn't see people in the streets, going wild when we captured Saddam.
I did see some ugliness when Reagan died, here. Besides that, I haven't really seen too much 'dancing on graves' on DU.
