That's right purchase your brand new never used Mk82 Mod1 Bomb (used Bombs generally have terrible resale values, btw) I thought this was quite a bargain & as I taxpayer I was amazed they were getting anything that cheaply. I realized these were the old fashion "dumb" bombs, so I found this from Judy Woodward's CNN WORLDVIEW on November 19, 1999:
snip>
JOHN PIKE, FED. OF AMERICAN SCIENTISTS: It's a precise weapon. It's inexpensive, it's highly effective, and it's basically the future of aerial warfare. This is one of the big success stories that the military's had for quite some time.

MCINTYRE: The J-DAM is dirt cheap. It's basically a conversion kit that adds fins, a satellite receiver and an electric motor to a standard dumb bomb. The price is less than $20,000.

Compare that to the $438,000 price tag for another new high-tech weapon, the AGM-130. That optically guided bomb, while highly accurate, caused civilian deaths in both Yugoslavia, when it hit a passenger train, and Iraq, when it hit a town.

Well I compared it and was thankful I didn't get soaked for more just as they showed me they could has easily deployed the more precise and much deadlier AGM-130. That thinly disguised threat shut me up.

Well, I had discovered this tidbit in the "Defense Contractor's News" & it was kind of interesting , so I read a few more articles & what did I see, but an article explaining that "Smart Bombs" require "Smart Bomb Racks" to fall out of. Gone are the days apparently when a bomb was operated by gravity, hence the name gravity bomb. Anyway, I determined that "Smart Bomb Racks, BRU-55 & found they are fairly educated, going for just over $81K a pop!

snip>
EDO MTECH Inc. in Huntingdon Valley, PA is being awarded an $11 million firm-fixed-price contract for the procurement of 135 BRU-55 Smart Racks (Bomb Release Units)

I had to quit looking when the article mentioned these BRU-55 would fit on F-22 Raptor which is apparently a smart plane, we've all heard how much it's well educated airframe goes for.

1. Bombs for all!
I mean what's his name down the street will think twice about dumping his trash in the street if he knows I've got a bomb pointed right at him.

4. Because you & I were the only people who would have ever seen it.
Or so I thought, that was actually my original intention. It doesn't make much difference actually. I had an excellent time catching up on the cluster bomb they are building, all the new and improved munitions. I always wonder where we would be if we devoted half as much energy to improving man's lot that we spend to devise better ways to kill him.
