3. He just wants to take attention off the fact that he has a gov't...
that Iranians want to get rid of, so necessarily he tries to take attention off the oppressive nature of his own government by saying they should blow up Israel.

5. He Wants To Restore The Caliphate.
It's not only fundamentalist Christians who harbor chiliastic fantasies.

17. I thought he was waiting for Muhammad al-Mahdi?
AFAIK, the idea of restoring the Caliphate is mostly Sunni. I think the Shia expect the 'hidden imam' to come back and fix everything (just as soon as he gets himself out of that well he's been hiding in...).

6. He reminds me of the old US Southern politicians.
The guy who was the biggest racist had the brightest political future.

Ahmadinejad's trying to use the "Israeli card" to boost his standing both at home and in the Muslim community. When passions are running high, that kind of base demagoguery works.

George Wallace actually began his career as a moderate on racial issues. After he was defeated in his first race he decided not to be "outni--ered."

That being said I think Wallace's racism was more tactical where as Ahmadinejad's anti-semitism is atavistic and comes from the reptilian brain.

9. What strikes me is
the arrogance of this man, and those, too many of them, who think like he does.

They want to destroy Israel? Fine. Ho to it.

But why on earth should they think that Israel is morally obliged to co-operate with their genocidal schemes?

They, too, are real. Giving this racist bigot a pass is not acceptable.

16. Lovely. What a sweetheart. He's also refused to stop enriching Uranium.
He has until August 31. I wonder what will happen after Aug. 31 and he's still enriching Uranium?
