This is how Journalists should address spokesperson for Israeli military

The Israeli talking points are phony when weighed against the indiscriminate carnage the Israel war machinery has wrought. Real journalist need to ask 'why' at every opertunity a spokesperson from Israel comes on the air. The explanations and stories they give us just do not hold water.

Thanks for that. CNN International's questioning on such subjects is generally good as is that of BBC , ITV , Channel 4 and Sky. I wasn't sure if you'd have got that specific one on the CNN USA home broadcast - would you ?

When some of our UK media reporters interview Blur it becomes almost a game because Blur knows that a point will come where he will become evasive and then whatever he says will be met by "will you please answer the question". That will be repeated until he either does so or states he will not answer that question.

Human Rights Watch, after extensive investigation, has concluded that the Israeli military is guilty of war crimes. HRW says:

Human Rights Watch independently interviewed three villagers who vigorously denied that the family had any connection to Hezbollah. Among the victims were children aged one, three, five and seven.

The Israeli government has blamed Hezbollah for the high civilian casualty toll in Lebanon, insisting that Hezbollah fighters have hidden themselves and their weapons among the civilian population. However, in none of the cases of civilian deaths documented in the report is there evidence to suggest that Hezbollah was operating in or around the area during or prior to the attack. '

7. I saw that and my first impression was that the spokesperson

was a little taken aback that anyone would question her prewritten statements.
She apparently though simply saying "we're sorry" was the default answer whenever difficult questions were asked.
That indicates to me her rehearsals were dependent on a compliant interviewer....and that is certainly interesting.

its bad enough that OUR govt. assumes sycophants to interview them, but when ANOTHER govt. works under the same assumptions, it highlights just how cheap our presswhores are, and just how unnerving it is for them when they show backbone once in a while.

I think years of greased skids in the media has made Bushco and others intellectually lazy. If they ever had to face an entire room of Helens, they'd run screaming.

The reporter definitely had a British accent. We don't usually see such interviews on American media. It would be a refreshing change if we've started to see this.

11. Thanks - I can't tell the difference.

Although I have worked with people with various different accents that I call British; and I know they're not all the same. I haven't been around them enough to make the distinction.

I can definitely say there's plenty of Australian in that accent (or New Zealand - that difference I can't tell, though people from those countries probably could), but an Australian might say there's a bit of an English accent in there too. The biography didn't say how old she was when she moved to Australia from England (and from Northern Ireland before that).

Yes, there are wide variations in British accents (wide to us, at least). They developed before mass communication; how long they'll stay is hard to know. I grew up in the south of England, as did my cousin, but she move to the north, and her children definitely have a northern accent, so they've picked that up from people around them (her husband is Australian, as a matter of fact, though his accent now sounds almost British, since he's been here at least 25 years - quite different from his brother).

True - didn't just make that up.

Just checked and to my amazement she's actually Irish. Has spent a long time in Australia and Tasmania so her accent has changed. She based on CNN Atlanta - CNN International only so chances are it won't be shown in the USA.

9. I saw one interview on BBC with a military strategist from Israel

and the interviewer questioned him on some of his answers. You could tell that the man being interviewed was steaming inside and was sending messages of "don't cross that line". Very intimidating.
