Fuck this.

Just kidding.

I would rather die in Tiburon than move back to Texas.

19. Sounds like a baby earthquake to me. I thought CA people took them
in stride. ;-)

Could the seismic count be wrong?

OTOH, I remember that our 45 second rolling 6.8 quake a few years ago felt like it lasted AT LEAST five minutes (I guess time slows down in an earthquake!) I was outside, and it was so strange to see the ground underneath me actually rolling in waves. It was kind of like being on a ferry.

29. It was a teensy one, but you never forget your first...
Ms. tomintib here...

Tom himself is a more recent transplant than me by a couple of years, and it is kind if the thing that we were waiting for, like tornadoes in Kansas...

We just had our natural-phenomenon cherry popped and it was so gentle that we were able to appreciate the novelty of it.

I moved here from Florida - THANK GOD! Forget the hurricanes, the politics of that state will kill you sooner...hell, they'll kill us all sooner.

KERRY WON!!!!!

I was a transplant decades ago. The first time I experienced an earthquake it truly was a baby one -- I think in the 3's. I told my son to stop kicking his leg under the table. (He wasn't.)

I wasn't thrilled about the idea of giant earthquakes here, but where is it safe anywhere? You've got your hurricanes, or your tornadoes, or your floods or your bitter winter freeze or your sauna bath summers.

Just getting into the car every day you're putting your life at risk.

Worst of all, you've got OTHER PEOPLE EVERYWHERE -- and you never know what they might do.

I agree about Kerry. And Gore, too, of course. The last six years have made me sick.

:hi:

33. The West Coast seems awfully lively lately.
In the last few hours especially. My kids live there, I tell them to be prepared, and they are, with a two week survival kit.
