Rumsfeld says Army is better now than it was in previous years

WASHINGTON - Despite the strains of the Iraq war, the Army today is "vastly better" and more capable now than it was two to eight years ago, Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld said Wednesday.

"It has much more equipment, much better equipment, and it's better trained and more experienced, and it is a better Army," Rumsfeld said, at a briefing at the Pentagon. "Notwithstanding the fact that it is possible to look at some charts and show that something has changed."

Rumsfeld's remarks came just one day after Lt. Gen. H. Steven Blum, chief of the National Guard Bureau, said that more than two-thirds of the Army National Guard's brigades are not combat-ready primarily because of a $21 billion shortfall in equipment - most of it lost in the war.

2. Well, if Rummy says it it has to be true
true means lies, of course.

3. Some CHARTS??? Well GOLLY...if there are CHARTS that say things
are better, who are we to argue??
Let's run out and show the CHARTS to the families of those who were buried this week...they can display them with the flags they received at the funerals of their loved ones. I know that will make them all feel MUCH better.

What a sick fuck.

4. Donald Rumsfeld is a loon
Everything he says is double talk, gibberish, or gobbledygook. His grasp of reality is based on his need cover up his latest blunder. And yet this is the sob that will have the power to detain you indefinitely if the latest greatest presidential power grab winds up as law. Rummy is enamored with himself. What he really needs is to be handcuffed and taken to a psychiatric hospital for the mentally unbalanced.

5. Well, the privateers are happier, if not the privates.
Rummy is just "Mr. Inside" for the corporate privateers. Never before in history have the contract hogs been finding more DoD teats to suck on - even to the point of getting paid to do KP. It's obscene.
